18

Jennifer~Fair One
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30
Today is Jennifer's 18th birthday.
In those 18 years she has grown into a beautiful young lady.
Her love for God is evident.
Her loyalty to her parents is an example to many.
Her relationship with her siblings is something to be desired.
Her heart for her friends is selfless.
When I think of Jennifer I think of bubbly, I think of cuddly, I think of free, I think of worshipper, I think of devoted, I think of honoring, I think of lovable.
Things Jennifer likes to do? Ride horse. Make cookies. Play with babies. Read books. Sing. Play piano. Cuddle with siblings. Laugh. Playing sports.
Things Jennifer is good at? Loving on babies. Working with animals. Teaching school. Playing piano. Singing. Throwing a football. Riding horse. Giving hugs. Making the mood light. Being a Godly example to others. Painting. Honoring her parents. Loving her siblings.
Her steadfastness in her faith is a joy to see.
Her love for worship and her almost constant singing is a blessing.
She is a hard worker and not afraid to get her hands dirty.
Jennifer words can't even express our love for you. We are so proud of the young woman that you are. We are so glad that God gave you as a gift to us. We are so thankful and blessed that you are following in His ways. We are so honored to be able to have you as our daughter. Have a great birthday Jennifer. WE LOVE YOU!

Family Times

Sunday we had a fun day as a family. After visiting with my parents for a bit we decided to go for a walk. Here are some photos of our trek.
Get in line everybody!

The view of the valley

Today is all about getting in line :)

Throwing rocks into the river

Lined up again?

Me and my best friend

After we went back for supper to mom and dad's...

it was movie time!

My dad pulled out movies of when he was little.
Let the show begin!
We had to head to the basement so that it would be dark enough.

In the movie we saw many antique things. The reels were even wrapped in antique elastic bands that were apparently 45 years old:)

Doesn't he look impressed!?!?

Simplicity of the Gospel

This past Sunday we went to visit a church we previously attended. We heard that our previous pastor was going to be there so we decided to go and hear him preach again.

He talked about getting back to the basics of the Bible.

He told a story of how he went to the Bible bookstore and saw a book on how to make millions (I can't remember the exact title) and then right beside it was a book on learning how to be content with what you have. Confusing?!? That's what we have made the gospel.

God's Word doesn't have to be confusing to us. We don't have to be learned of Hebrew and Greek to get it's meaning.

Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:35-30

That's pretty straight forward isn't it? What would happen if I lived every day following this principle?

This verse has challenged me again to realize that it's not about me, it's about HIM! When I love Him with ALL my heart, ALL my soul and ALL my mind, it's about HIM. When I love my neighbor as myself it's not about me, it's about HIM!

I want to live my life all about HIM.

Simple, basic, straight forward.....

The Next Leg of Our Trip

After we visited the Amish village we headed to Petersburg, KY
to check out the Creation Museum.
It was nice to see a museum that was dedicated to depicting the stories of the Bible, without one mention of things evolving nearly ten million years ago.
Here are some highlights of our time there....
~A quick photo while the van was being parked.~

~The scenery and Bible characters were so life like and beautiful.~

~What do you think everbody is looking at???~

~One thing we noticed was that even though they had alot of the same flowers in the south they were much bigger than at home due to the longer growing season.~

~Model of the ark~

~There was some nice paths to walk and enjoy the outdoor scenery.~

~The swinging bridge was a highlight for the little ones.~

~By now mikaya was missing all of her animals at home, and was excited to visit the petting zoo.~

~This interesting animal was a zonkey, a cross between a zebra and a donkey. I don't think they had these on the ark:)~

~Meet Mr. friendly camel~

~Family photo. Can you see who's taking the picture?~

Grammy and Grampy

Thank you for all your congratulations on us becoming GRANDPARENTS Lord willing in January /10. I can't tell you how excited we are to see our children embrace children as the blessing that they are.

Many people have asked us how it makes us feel to know we are going to be grandparents. In one word.... BLESSED. Truly blessed and honored that God has chosen to bless the next generation with a reward from Him. The worlds's view seems to be that if you are a grandparent you are old. If in fact that is the case we don't care if we are considered old if it means we get to be a grandpa/grandma. But really we don't feel old :)

Our prayer is that we can be a Godly example to the next generation that God is blessing us with. And that we will be able to tell them of God's glorious love and power.

We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. Psalm 78:4
