#4

We are excited to announce that we have another grandchild! Silas Uriah was born to Henry and Megan Froese on Jan. 12th. He was a whopping 9 lbs. 1 1/2 oz.
What a blessing he is to our family already!!!!

Grampa and Silas' first of many cuddles.

My precious grandson and I
just a couple of hours after he was born.

Auntie Jen. She tends to be a baby hog
so we had to keep an eye on her :)

Kerri so happy to finally meet this little man!
(he was 2 weeks overdue)

Caleb and Silas. Caleb is an amazing Uncle and I'm sure
Silas and him will have many fun times together.

Proud Uncle Zach

The rest of the kiddos were not allowed to hold the baby (hospital rules!) but they were able to see him through the nursery window. They can't wait to get in some snuggle time with him!

They were 2, and then they became 1,

That's right folks....Henry and Megan are going to have a baby, Lord willing, in March :)
So we are going to be grandparents.....again :)
We are so excited for Henry and Megan.....and we are so excited for us!!!!

I had a great Mother’s Day, thanks to my wonderful husband and kids.

We had a nice day enjoying family and friends and of course eating together.

And I also got many great gifts. Flip Flops, CD, book, hummingbird feeder, chocolates :), a beautiful bouquet of flowers and 3 roses.

As great as all those gifts were, my favorite is the one I will receive in November (Lord willing). Check out here to see what it is!!!!

Hope you all had a great day celebrating motherhood!

#12 IS ON THE WAY

Thank you for all your kind congrats from our riddle post! Life has been full and busy around here. Never have I been able to welcome a grandchild home and announce a pregnacy all in the same week! What fun it has been :)

Our life is feeling somewhat normal again...the new normal. Mark is very happy to have his helper, Joshua, back! It always amazes me how you just make do when you don't have....but when you have someone back....you wonder how you ever did without. Only God's grace!

As for the riddle.....YES, we are very exctied to announce that we are expecting our 12th child around the beginning of August.

I have often wondered if I would one day be a pregnant Grammy! And the Lord saw fit to make that a reality. I am over the morning sickness (or rather all day) now.....so things are going pretty well. I am having a bit of a struggle with high blood pressure though. My blood pressure has always been kind of borderline high in most of my other pregnancies.....and we have been able to keep it under control without medication. But never has it gotten this high.....and never quite so early. So I found a Dr. who is willing to work together with my midwife and let me monitor things closely at home with my own cuff (which she checked out with hers to make sure it was accurate) and for now I have been able to stay off of medication. So if you think of me could I ask you to please pray for my blood pressure........that it would stay in the normal range.

Other than that everything is going great! We heard the heart beat on Thursday. That is always exciting no matter how many times you experience it! A little miracle inside.....a precious gift from God. Never do I want to take for granted this experience, because I know there are so many who have never been able to experience this or desire to experience it again and haven't been able to. I often wonder why God allows some women to conceive and not others, or some who would like more who haven't been able to conceive again. But then I have to remind myself that God is God, His ways are not my ways, He sees the big picture.....and He is in control....not me!

So that's the latest news around here. EVERYONE is very excited to have a new brother or sister, Lord willing, in the summer. Jennifer thinks he/she would be a wonderful birthday present (July 30). We have Brooke working on names. What she has come up with so far? "Lil ol Fella" :) Kind of has a nice ring to it don't you think!

And of course Josiah is ecstatic for a new little playmate! Here is a picture of him when we told him the wonderful news (ok....not really!)

Grammy and Grampy

Thank you for all your congratulations on us becoming GRANDPARENTS Lord willing in January /10. I can't tell you how excited we are to see our children embrace children as the blessing that they are.

Many people have asked us how it makes us feel to know we are going to be grandparents. In one word.... BLESSED. Truly blessed and honored that God has chosen to bless the next generation with a reward from Him. The worlds's view seems to be that if you are a grandparent you are old. If in fact that is the case we don't care if we are considered old if it means we get to be a grandpa/grandma. But really we don't feel old :)

Our prayer is that we can be a Godly example to the next generation that God is blessing us with. And that we will be able to tell them of God's glorious love and power.

We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he hath done. Psalm 78:4

We Need Some New Clothes

Mark and I have realized that our wardrobe could use a couple of new things.

So I've done a little online shopping and have come up with these....

I think I might get this t-shirt or maybe this one

Or maybe I can wait until January and get this one.

And for Mark I thought about this hat. Or maybe even this one.

Do you think they would suit us?

They're Back!

Much to our family's joy, Joshua & Rebecca came home from their honeymoon today.
You could feel the excitement build when we told everyone that they had called and said they were less than 1/2 hour from home! Brooke stood in the entrance and kept saying, "Joshua, Rebecca, where are you?" And when they drove up Jesse gave a play by play of what they were wearing and what they were doing. Nathan stood there ready to take a picture. It is so nice to have brothers and sisters that love one another like this :)
We were able to visit a little with them and see some pictures of their tour to Israel.
It sounds like they had a very memorable time.
Some of the highlights we heard about were:
-Joshua getting baptized in the Jordan River
-Getting to know Phillips, Craig & Dean & their wives(you will hear their music in our home many a day. We love their heart for worship and for the Lord) and worshipping together with them
-Walking where Jesus walked
-Seeing and learning more about the places that they had read about in the Bible so many times
-and of course way too much to list here :)
We hope to hear much more about their time in the days to come.
So welcome home Joshua & Rebecca.
We love you!

My Husband, A Champion

Well if there is one thing you need to know about the Pauls', it's that they love to curl. When Mark and I were dating he used to curl almost every weekend during the winter. After we got married he curled a little less, but still regularly once a week and the occasional weekend bonspiel. Then when God started blessing us with children he decided that he needed to hang up the old broom and put away the curling shoes and concentrate on raising a family. But every once in awhile someone calls him up to curl in a bonspiel. This last weekend was such a time. With the ol' sparkle in his eye Mark dusted off his broom, slipped on his curling shoes (which he has worn ever since I have known him) and hit the ice. Even though the ice was tough and conditions were less than ideal, my sweetie (and his teemmates of course:) made it to the finals on Sunday. I was just going to let Mark go and play the game on Sunday, give us a report on how it went and then continue on with our day. But I saw the excitement in our kids eyes and the yearning to go and watch him, so the kids and I jumped in the van and went to the game. (Even though we were a little late). The kids were so excited when their hero, their daddy won! It was so fun to watch their reaction and hear comments like "Daddy's a really good curler." Their daddy, their hero! And even though it took an effort to get everyone there, it was well worth it. Caleb was so excited about the trophy that he would hardly let it out of his sight. When we got home he asked Mark what he should do with it. Mark asked Caleb if he would keep it safe in his room for him. Of course that made his day! So there you have it, my husband, a champion. Oh ya, and my wonderful husband let me pick his prize because in his words, "You had to stay home, while I went out and curled." So he passed up all the wonderful guy things and I picked out a foldable table. Something that will come in real handy when we have company.
So here's to my husband. A CHAMPION!
Of course it didn't take a curling game for his family to know that :)
Here is the picture from the local newspaper. Mark and his two cousins,
Ben and Harry and Ben's son Eric.
