Things Aren't Always As They Seem

I have been spending many hours in the combine the last little while.
The weather this fall has been very rainy and cloudy, so when it is sunny
we go will all the man (woman:) power we have.
So this year I get to drive the big green machine (John Deere for those
of you who are not farmers:)
Every day I have some little ones to keep me company.
It changes from day to day, sometimes from hour to hour.
But I am glad they come with me and that I can still spend time
with them in this busy season.
One day when Jesse was with me Mark informed me over the 2 way radio
that I might want to try to go down the next row backwards.
For those of my friends who are not farmers I will explain.
It is easiest for a combine to pick up a swath the way it was swathed.
If you don't, we call it going backwards down a row.
It sometimes doesn't work so well.
Am I making any sense?
So anyways, when Mark told me to try going backwards down
the row Jesse had this funny look on his face.
He looked at me and laughed, "It won't work to combine backwards.
The combine won't work if you go backwards!"
He was thinking Mark was telling me to drive in reverse down the row :)
It's moments like this that bring a light into a busy day,
a smile to a mamma's face.
So I want to know.
What have your kids said lately?
You know, those funny moments that just make you smile.
Maybe I can print out your comments and get Caleb to
read them to me in the combine tomorrow.
See if you can keep me entertained all day:)
Even if I don't know you, if you've been reading but haven't commented.
I'd love to hear from all of you.

The other day Rowan said that he didn't want to get bigger. He wanted to stay small. When I asked him why, he said that he just wanted to be able to play with his toys, and he couldn't do that if he grew bigger :)

So you're into combining season also?! I love that time of year. Busy but fun. This year I'm not much into it with a 2 + wk old newborn and busy with my 2 toddlers also. Mind you,my 3 yr old gets his share of combine rides but I still want him in the house for his afternoon nap and early evening for his bath and devotion time before bed time. But my 2 yr old will miss out completely on combine season as we just found out she has a touch of asthma.

That's so cute! My son is starting to get to the stage where he comes up with funny things all on his own! The most recent one is that he will randomly point to his eyes and tell me that he is "awake"! hehe...too cute. :)

William is at the age he always keeps me laughing. I was going to post this the other day but you know NO TIME!
William being 4 always wants to do school too, so the other day he wanted me to write his whole name on his paper "coloring book" I said ok, and began to write William. Then I looked at him and said what is the rest of your name, he looked up and said William Daniel "SIR". I said that's nice what about Munck, he said oh' Daddy says all Boys are "SIR" and we should say Sir to boys. So, I'm William Daniel "SIR". That was last week and he's still calling himself that...well at least he's listening and learning manners :)

Hi Rosalie, I guess this is a little late but I thought I would comment anyway.

Justin always says, "Don't let the bed bugs bite," when we tug him in. So now Kaitlyn (being the imitator she is) has started to say, "Don't let the bugs bite out".
